Exciting time ahead for Lanarkshire Epilepsy Support Group following the award of a 3 year grant from the Big Lottery Fund.
One of Epilepsy Consortium Scotland’s member organisations, Lanarkshire Epilepsy Support Group a have been awarded a grant from the Big Lottery Fund. The grant will allow the group to employ additional staff to provide and establish networks of support throughout Lanarkshire.
Iona Taylor, Chairperson of LESG said ‘Epilepsy is an isolating and frightening condition and there is very little support available to those in Lanarkshire living with the condition. We are really excited about the opportunity to build on the work Helen McDonald and the team have been doing over the last few years and make a real difference for individuals and families affected by epilepsy.’
Big Lottery Fund Scotland Chair, Maureen McGinn, said: “I am delighted that Lanarkshire Epilepsy Support Group has been successful in securing a Big Lottery Fund grant. The funding will make a big difference where it is needed most and I wish the Lanarkshire Epilepsy Support Group every success as it goes on to develop and expand its project for the benefit of their local community.”
22.06.17 – Breaking news. LESG have also been awarded a grant from Comic Relief, via Foundation Scotland, to fund the Group’s Summer Programme of events to raise awareness of epilepsy and support families who are affected.
