Epilepsy Consortium Scotland members manned an exhibition stand within the Scottish Parliament during national epilepsy week and personally briefed dozens of MSPs on epilepsy issues, with a particular focus upon improving the mental health and wellbeing of people with epilepsy. MSPs were asked to take action in order to:

- ensure that, as per SIGN guidelines, adults epilepsy are routinely screened for depression and suicidality, and treated appropriately
- improve the provision of neuropsychiatry and neuropsychology services in Scotland
- increase the capacity of CAMHS, and ensure support for third sector organisations working to improve the mental health of children and young people with epilepsy
- increase the number of learning disability epilepsy nurse specialists and to improve access to learning disability psychiatry services.
